Patch-Up Community Agriculture School Launch - Mandela Day 2026

Mandela Day Community Celebration 2026

Official Launch of the Patch-Up South Africa Community Agriculture School

Join Patch-Up South Africa as we commemorate Mandela Day 2026 through the official launch of our Community Agriculture Farm in Mamelodi East—the first milestone towards establishing Mamelodi's first Community Agriculture School.

This initiative is more than a farm. It is a long-term investment in food security, skills development, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment. The Community Agriculture School will provide practical agricultural training, promote sustainable food production, and create opportunities for unemployed youth, vulnerable families, and aspiring community farmers to build resilient livelihoods.

PATCH-UP SOUTH AFRICA

Patch-Up South Africa is dedicated to catalyzing a positive and substantial transformation in marginalized communities, particularly in townships and rural areas. Our primary focus is on vulnerable populations grappling with poverty, ill-health, unemployment, restricted access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. In aiming to build sustainable communities we use a holistic approach. The marginalized communities we serve are plagued by an influx of drug abuse, GBV and unemployment. These issues contribute to the degeneration of these communities and we see these challenges filtering down to the younger population of these communities, and therefore, we further our programs to adolescent and young people to implement harm prevention initiatives.  Our overarching goal is to tackle past traumas, rectifying imbalances, and alleviate prevailing economic and social challenges.

Quote

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"There is nothing new about poverty. What is new however, is that we have the resources to get rid of it."
